What's been happening...?

I just realised how long it's been since my last post. Here's a brief update...

It's been a bit chaotic here since about May.

We went to Venice for 3 days in mid May - we drove there It's just a short half day's drive; not much for us seasoned Australian travellers but the Europeans think we're all mad! What an absolutely amazing place! A surprise around every corner! And this time for your viewing pleasure rather than adding photos individually (which is somewhat tedious) I have prepared a multimedia extravaganza for you! Play the video below for a slideshow - it's about 8 minutes long. Enjoy!

I went to Australia in late May, worked in Sydney for a week, came back and had one day's rest before we had visitors from Ireland for 9 days. Then suddenly became unemployed because the project I was working on in Australia came to an abrupt and unexpected end. So since then have been trying to figure out how to get work or start up my own business here. I have a few things in the pipeline...will keep you posted.

We went for another motorbike ride last Sunday. I happened across a couple of other English speaking ex-pats who wanted to start a bike riding group so there were four of us this time. Who knows, the group might grow some more over the coming months.

We have a busy couple of months coming up: another visit from Cathy's sister and our niece in late July, sailing in the Greek Islands for 6 days in early August, then onto the outdoor opera at the Roman Amphitheater in Verona with Cathy's parents. Cathy's parents leave on 2 September and my parents arrive on the same day and they stay until around 15 September. Then we believe we have more visitors in early October and possibly November as well. I will try and fit in an update or two amongst al of that activity.

Au revoir.

PS - New developments:

Another development I that have made to the blog, other than branching out into multimedia publishing, is to add a link at the top right hand side of this website that you can click on to subscribe to an RSS feed which will enable you to receive emails when this blog is updated. For those you who are less tech-savvy here's what to do:
  1. Click on the white rectangle which says "posts" below the heading "Subscribe to this blog", the one with an icon that looks like this .
  2. At the bottom of the drop down list that appears ,select the Atom option. Of course if you have an account with Google or have any of the other RSS feeders then you can use the one of your choice.
  3. When you click on the Atom link, a new window will open with the blog laid out in a different format.
  4. On the right hand side of the Atom window you will see a section with the heading "Actions". Click on the link which says "subscribe in Mail" and voila! A new RSS feed should appear in your email inbox which will receive a new email whenever I update the blog. Well that's the theory at any rate. Have a go and see if it works for you.
